Research and innovation projects

Bioco participates in several research and innovation projects that are financed by the Norwegian research council, in order to further develop the hydrolysis process and their products, and to achieve additional value creation and resource utilization.

Bioco participates in the follow projects:

Norilia is responsible for sales and market development of Bioco's products. Norilia is a partner in several research and innovation projects in which product development of Bioco's products and documentation of characteristics and health effects are key themes. Norilia participates in the following hydrolysis-related projects, in addition to Notably and SmartBio:

  • HydroProt - investigate opportunities for development of new tailored food concepts by using hydrolyzed proteins. This project is owned by Nortura.
  • LMD project - test health effects of chicken hydrolysates and oil, with focus on metabolic syndrom. This project is owned by Norilia.
  • Pepfishing - investigate possible peptides in protein hydrolysates that can prevent or treat diabetes. This project is owned by Nofima.
  • ReVal - development of pretreatments of raw material that can help optimize the enzymatic hydrolysis process. This project is owned by Nofima.
  • SFI Industrial Biotechnology - a large interdisciplinary centre for research driven innovation, in which enzymatic hydrolysis is an important theme. This centre is owned by Sintef Industry.
  • SFI Digital Food Quality - a large interdisciplinary centre for research driven innovation, in which sensor technology is an important theme. This centre is owned by Nofima.
